Pigeon Ascent v1.9.0.1 update Link to this heading

Hi there! This relatively large update changes many game features. I did a good amount of tests, but maybe one thing or another missed me. If you find any bugs, please report them by sending an e-mail or leaving a comment at the itch.io page!

  • Major change: Skill system revamp
    • The passive skill system received a major overhaul. Most passives now have a new, (hopefully) more interesting effect. Also, the mechanisms by which passive skills work is a lot more flexible now. This opens the possibility of adding different skill types, as well as more creative passive skills, and more simultaneous skills altogether. Right now, only one skill is available at a time… but in future versions, this won’t be the case. At least that’s what planned.
  • General adjustments
    • Polished the Hall of Tries.
    • Polished the Achievements window.
    • Achievements are better ordered now.
    • Pigod will have the same name as the last pigeon who won the game.
    • Added a better texture for buttons that close windows.
    • New pigeon: Countryside pigeon. Though, just like the Seapigeon, it’s not playable (at least for now).
    • Multiple bugfixes, and behind the curtains, some refactoring too.
  • Qualtiy of Life
    • Added native fullscreen to the game. Just select it in the Settings.
    • Game can be paused during battles by pressing “P”.
    • Each status panel displays the status bonus separately now, along with a tooltip.

The roadmap is kind of a mess right now, so I won’t be posting it here this time. But one thing that’s almost certain is that free content updates to Pigeon Ascent should stop with the arrival of version 2.0.0… I still am not sure the game is worth of a commercial release, but I still want to give a shot at a first commercial release for Escada Games. We’ll see!
